A skydiver has died after an incident near an airfield in Nottinghamshire, police confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Langar Airfield shortly after 11:30 BST on Sunday. The skydiver, who has not yet been formally identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

Nottinghamshire Police said: "We were called to reports of an incident involving a skydiver near Langar Airfield at around 11:35am on Sunday 5 July 2026. Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

Langar Airfield is a popular site for skydiving and parachute training, operated by the British Parachute Association. The airfield has been used for skydiving for decades. An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway.
