Belmore Lotto Winner Yet to Claim $1.8 Million Prize

A mystery Saturday Lotto winner from Belmore in Sydney's southwest is unknowingly carrying a ticket worth $1.8 million, as the prize remains unclaimed days after the draw.

Two Division One Winners in Sydney

Two division one winning tickets were sold in Sydney for the weekend's Saturday Lotto draw, which had a total prize pool of $3.6 million. A woman from Merrylands claimed her $1.8 million share on Sunday, but the second winner, who purchased their ticket at Belmore Newsagency on 362 Burwood Rd, Belmore, has not yet come forward.

“It’s amazing how one ticket can change someone’s life,” the newsagency team said. “Congratulations to the winner and all the best on your future endeavours.”

Winner Not Registered

A spokesperson for The Lott said the unknown winner is not part of the Lott Members Club and did not register the ticket online, making it impossible to contact them directly. “Our mystery winner is likely oblivious to the fact they won $1.8 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw,” said Khat McIntyre from The Lott. “We’ve already shared the life-changing news with the Merrylands winner, and we’re ready to do the same with this mystery Belmore player.”

Merrylands Winner Celebrated with Champagne

The Merrylands winner, who claimed her prize on Sunday, said she and her husband celebrated with a glass of champagne. “I’m still in shock,” she said. “When I checked my ticket on Sunday morning, I couldn’t even process it. We had a bottle of bubbles to celebrate but other than that, we’ve just been going on with our daily life because it’s barely sunk in.”

The lucky winner said she doesn't always play, but buys a ticket when the jackpot is large enough. “Something we’ve always wanted to do is buy a house and now we can. It’s incredible,” she said.

Players Urged to Check Tickets

Players are being asked to check their tickets to see if they are the lucky winner of Saturday's draw. “We’re encouraging anyone who purchased a Saturday Lotto ticket from Belmore Newsagency to check their tickets today,” McIntyre said. “Just imagine how exhilarating it would be to discover you’ve won division one. Your plans for the rest of the year and into the future would quickly change.”

Earlier this month, another call was made for a mystery winner who bought a Powerball ticket worth $100 million last June. That winner has yet to come forward and claim the prize over a year later.
