Founder Celebrates Major Achievement

Ben Young, the founder of Frank Green, expressed pride in the accomplishment. “Yeah, it’s a really amazing statistic and a really proud thing for the business that we’ve been able to capture people’s imagination,” Young said from his Melbourne mega factory. He noted that demand for designer hydration continues to grow, with no signs of slowing down.

Once considered a camping necessity, reusable water bottles have transformed into must-have accessories. Fashion-conscious consumers now coordinate their bottles with outfits, making them an essential part of daily life. The colorful flasks have become a global phenomenon, with many people refusing to leave home without one.

Market Insights and Consumer Behavior

A survey by comparison site Canstar revealed that 43% of Australians take their water bottle everywhere. Eden Radford from Canstar noted, “Aussies are willing to pay, you know, $100 even for a reusable water bottle.” The survey also found that two-thirds of shoppers prefer stainless steel bottles, and over a third reported drinking more water after purchasing one. Top-rated brands include Yeti, Stanley, and Decor.

Young explained the brand's ethos: “So Frank means straightforward and honest and green means sustainable.” Frank Green is actively reducing its environmental impact by eliminating single-use plastic from its warehouse. The company has developed a sustainable alternative to pallet wrap, removing seven tonnes of plastic waste. Young described plastics as “nature’s cancer,” adding, “this is really stopping it, which is something to be super proud of.”
