A free community safety expo offering safety checks, live demonstrations, interactive experiences, and family-friendly entertainment will be held in Mirrabooka this weekend.

The annual event takes place this Sunday at Stirling Leisure – Mirrabooka from 12pm to 3pm, hosted by the City of Stirling.

Attendees can enjoy a display of emergency services vehicles, arts and crafts, face painting, Constable Care puppet shows, and appearances by Perth Glory players for the kids.

A key attraction this year is the 19-metre iNSTRUCKTA! VR Truck, offering an immersive virtual reality road safety experience. Bike safety checks, child car seat installations, anti-theft screw fittings, and various prizes and giveaways will also be available.

Participating Organisations

Numerous organisations will be present, including WA Police, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, the State Emergency Service, the Road Safety Commission, the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation, and Consumer Protection. The City of Stirling will showcase its range of safety services, from rangers and lifeguards to the Stirling Women’s Centre.

Mayor Mark Irwin encourages residents to attend and gather practical safety tips. "The Community Safety Expo will give residents the opportunity to connect with and learn from the local heroes who keep them safe," Mr Irwin said. "It’s a chance for people to come together, get access to some great resources, pick up some practical tips and help build a safer, more resilient community."
