Castlery Jumps the Gun on Black Friday with Major Savings
For Australian shoppers who have been patiently waiting for the Black Friday sales to begin, the wait is over. Iconic furniture and homewares brand Castlery has decided to launch its Black Friday campaign ahead of schedule, offering a range of impressive deals for customers eager to refresh their homes.
The sale is structured in two key phases. The first wave runs from November 3 until November 9, where shoppers can save up to $500 off sitewide. This is followed by an even better offer from November 10, where the discount increases to a maximum of $550 off across the entire site. On top of this, savvy shoppers can snap up incredible bargains with up to 40 per cent off clearance items.
Top Picks for Your Home This Festive Season
The sale features a curated selection of Castlery's most popular pieces, perfect for entertaining during the upcoming Christmas period. A highlight includes a range of sofas and ottomans designed for comfort and style.
One standout item is the Mori Performance Fabric 3 Seater Sofa, which has been reduced to $1,999 from its original price of $2,499. With its feather-filled seats and relaxed profile, this sofa is a versatile addition to any living space, sunroom, or dining area.
Another exceptional piece is the Belmont Travertine Rectangular Dining Table, normally priced at $3,999. Its clean, minimalist lines and organic design can transform everyday meals into special occasions, and it is eligible for the maximum sitewide discount.
How the 'Spend and Save' Model Works
Castlery's Black Friday promotion operates on a spend-and-save model, meaning the more you invest in your home, the more you save. The discount tiers are as follows:
- $100 off when you spend $1,500 or more
- $200 off when you spend $2,500 or more
- $500 off (rising to $550 from November 10) when you spend $4,500 or more
Beyond sofas and dining tables, the sale also encompasses beds, home accessories, and various occasional furniture items.
The Bigger Picture: Black Friday Trends in Australia
This early sale aligns with a broader shift in Australian shopping habits. New research from Afterpay reveals that 56 per cent of Australians are now spreading the cost of their purchases, while 45 per cent are strategically waiting for sales on big-ticket items.
This comes after nearly 40 per cent of shoppers took advantage of Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals in the previous year, solidifying Black Friday's status as the biggest shopping day of 2024. The most sought-after categories include clothing and shoes (52 per cent), followed by toys (34 per cent), books (33 per cent), and interior décor items (32 per cent).
"Australians are becoming savvier than ever this holiday season," said Katrina Konstas, Country Manager of Afterpay ANZ. "Cost-of-living pressures have made people much more strategic — shopping earlier, timing purchases around sales, and using flexible payment options to maintain control and budget effectively."
This year, Black Friday falls on November 28, but as Castlery has demonstrated, many retailers are starting their promotions from late October. The sales period often extends through to Cyber Monday on December 1, marking the close of the major sale season before the Boxing Day sales begin.
