Finish Dishwasher Brand Unveils Recyclable Paper Packaging in Sustainability Push

In recent years, there has been a significant increase in sustainability awareness across Australia, with consumers actively searching for sustainable packaging, reusable items, and eco-friendly products. From stylish reusable tote bags to environmentally conscious kitchen essentials, statistics consistently show that sustainability remains a core value for modern shoppers. As more popular brands adopt eco-friendly practices in their packaging, Australia's leading auto-dish brand, Finish, has now revealed innovative recyclable paper-based packaging.

A New Look for a Global Favorite

Finish, a trusted choice for shoppers worldwide seeking high-quality dishwasher tablets and liquid, has just introduced a complete packaging redesign. This development comes after more than four years of dedicated research and over 55 production trials, ensuring the new sustainable packaging not only meets Australian recycling standards but also maintains the sleek, iconic appearance that Finish is known for. With a remarkable 75% reduction in plastic packaging, Finish is championing the message of "real change, not just clean dishes."

Commitment to Environmental Progress

The new packaging, already appearing on shelves in grocery stores across Australia, represents a major step forward for the brand. Malgorzata Herman, R&D Packaging Innovation Manager at Reckitt, the parent company of Finish, expressed immense pride in this innovation. "We are immensely proud of what this innovation represents—not just for Finish, but for the entire homecare category," Herman stated. "Despite numerous scientific and technical challenges, our teams remained unwavering in their commitment. Today, we deliver a paper-based solution that protects the product, ensures performance, and empowers consumers to make more sustainable choices."

Herman emphasized that this achievement is a true testament to perseverance, partnership, and a dedicated commitment to driving meaningful environmental progress. Building on this momentum, Finish is now on a mission to further reduce plastic usage and develop even more sustainable packaging options across its entire product range.

Enhanced Product Formulation

Coinciding with the launch of the sustainable packaging, Finish has also introduced a brand-new tablet formulation in its Ultimate Plus range. This advanced formula is specifically designed to tackle even the most stubborn stains, effectively saving time and effort during cleaning by eliminating the need for pre-rinsing. The product retains its best-selling effectiveness, now complemented by eco-friendly packaging.

Availability and Recycling Instructions

Shoppers can now find this updated range at major retailers such as Coles and Woolworths. The packaging is fully recycled, with the exception of the plastic zipper strip. To properly recycle, consumers are advised to tear off the plastic zipper along the dotted line before placing the paper bag in their paper recycling bin. This initiative not only enhances product sustainability but also encourages responsible consumer practices, aligning with the broader shift towards environmental consciousness in the Australian market.
