Westin Perth and Hilton Garden Inn Busselton Named WA's Premier Hotels at Glamorous AHA Awards

Two of Western Australia's most distinguished hotels have been officially recognised as the state's finest at this year's AHA Accommodation Awards for Excellence. The prestigious event, held on Monday at the Devil's Lair Gala Ball within The Westin Perth, saw these establishments triumph over notable competitors including Crown Perth and The Ritz-Carlton.

More than 500 industry leaders and guests gathered to celebrate the outstanding achievements of WA's accommodation sector. The annual awards ceremony is dedicated to honouring excellence and leadership in hotel management and operations across the state, spotlighting the remarkable contributions of venues, dedicated teams, managers, and individual staff members.

Major Award Winners Announced

The evening's most coveted accolades were awarded to The Westin Perth, which secured the title of WA's Best Metro Accommodation Hotel, and the Hilton Garden Inn Busselton, which claimed the honour of WA's Best Regional Accommodation Hotel. These wins underscore the diverse strengths of Western Australia's hospitality landscape, from bustling urban centres to picturesque regional destinations.

In a significant career milestone, Nathan Frost, Vice President of Operations for Accor Western Australia and Tasmania, was inducted into the esteemed Accommodation Industry Hall of Fame. This recognition celebrates his enduring impact and leadership within the sector.

Celebrating a Thriving Accommodation Sector

Bradley Woods, Chief Executive of AHA WA, emphasised the importance of the awards, which span more than 30 categories. He praised the professionalism, resilience, and innovation demonstrated by WA's accommodation providers. "These awards recognise the exceptional people and properties delivering world-class hospitality across our state," Woods stated.

He further highlighted the robust health of Western Australia's tourism industry, noting that Perth hotels are achieving average occupancy rates well above the national average, while visitor numbers throughout the state have reached record levels. "From luxury city hotels to family-friendly regional accommodation, tonight's winners are leading the way, providing outstanding service, memorable experiences and demonstrating the professionalism and innovation that keep WA at the forefront of Australian tourism," Woods added.

The ceremony also celebrated excellence in specific operational areas:

  • Crown Towers Perth received the Hotel Management Team Award, acknowledging their exemplary leadership and coordination.
  • Songbird, the bar at The Ritz-Carlton Perth, was honoured with the Accommodation Hotel Bar Award.
  • Wildflower at Como The Treasury claimed the Accommodation Hotel Wine List Award for an impressive third consecutive year, showcasing their consistent commitment to oenological excellence.
