Emergency services were called to Merewether Bowling Club on Caldwell Street just after 7.30pm on Sunday, March 22, following reports of a violent assault. Police attended the scene and were informed that a 69-year-old man, who was working as a musician at the club, had been stabbed several times near the entrance by another individual.
The injured musician received initial treatment from a doctor at the scene before paramedics arrived to continue care. He was subsequently transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition, suffering from stab wounds to his chest and back.
