An 18-year-old man faces serious charges following disturbing allegations of sexual assault against three young girls during a school camp. The accused, who worked as a camp instructor, was officially refused bail on Wednesday after his arrest earlier this week.

The alleged assaults are said to have occurred on October 23 and 24 during regular camp activities. Police will allege in court that the man inappropriately touched three 11-year-old girls while supposedly checking their safety harnesses. The matter came to light when reports were made to the State Crime Command's Child Abuse Squad earlier this month. Following their investigation, detectives arrested the 18-year-old at a residential property in Harrington Park, located in Sydney's southwest, at approximately 11.10am on Tuesday. The arrest took place without incident at the home address.
The accused was subsequently taken to Camden Police Station, where he was formally charged with thirteen counts of intentionally sexually touching a child aged between 10 and 16 years. The multiple charges reflect the serious nature of the allegations involving the three pre-teen victims.
