A man has been allegedly stabbed in Bellambi, leaving a trail of blood up a street as he sought help. Police were called to the scene on Monday evening after reports of a disturbance.
Incident Details
Emergency services arrived at a property on Bellambi Lane around 8:30 PM to find a 28-year-old man with a stab wound to his upper body. The victim was treated at the scene before being transported to Wollongong Hospital in a stable condition.
Witnesses reported seeing a trail of blood leading from the property up the street, indicating the victim had walked some distance after being attacked. Police have established a crime scene and are conducting forensic examinations.
Police Investigation
Detectives from the Wollongong Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing. They believe the victim and the alleged offender were known to each other, and the incident is not believed to be random.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could assist the investigation to come forward,” said Detective Inspector John Smith. “We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen a person acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the attack.”

The incident has shocked local residents, who described the area as usually quiet. “It’s concerning to see something like this happen in our neighbourhood,” said one resident, who wished to remain anonymous. “We hope the police can catch whoever did this.”
