Farmer Wants A Wife Stars David and Emily Welcome Baby Girl Willa Mae
Reality television sweethearts David McMahon and his wife Emily have joyfully announced the arrival of their first child, a beautiful baby girl named Willa Mae McMahon. The couple, who famously found love on season 13 of Channel 7's hit show Farmer Wants A Wife, shared their heartwarming news on Instagram, revealing that their daughter was born on April 10.
A Dream Come True for the Proud Parents
"To have you in our arms is an indescribable feeling — we love you," the new parents wrote alongside a series of sweet black-and-white photographs capturing precious moments with their newborn. This announcement comes after the couple first hinted at their growing family in October of last year, when they posted a charming photo featuring their two dogs beside a tiny white baby onesie.
"2026 will be the greatest adventure yet!" David excitedly wrote at the time. "Our family is about to grow by two tiny feet." True to his words, the arrival of Willa Mae marks the beginning of this new chapter for the McMahon family.
From Reality Show Romance to Real-Life Marriage
The journey to parenthood began when sparks flew between David and Emily during the 2023 season of Farmer Wants A Wife. After weeks of courtship on camera, David visited Emily's family in her hometown of Brisbane during the finale episode, where her mother questioned his readiness for commitment. David, a fourth-generation apple farmer, showed no intention of leaving his farm life behind.
Just days after declaring his love on the show, the couple confirmed to 7NEWS that Emily had decided to relocate from Brisbane to David's apple farm. "I was a little bit anxious that I really wanted to find, you know, my career and life here," Emily admitted. "I'm just used to my routine and I knew that was going to change but I was excited to get involved with the community here."
By October 2023, David proudly announced their engagement with the caption, "Incredibly proud to announce, this Farmer has found his Wife." A year later, on October 19, the couple tied the knot in a romantic garden ceremony on David's family farm, surrounded by 220 loved ones. Emily walked down the aisle in an ivory halter-neck gown by designer Milla Nova, accompanied by both her parents to Florence and the Machine's version of Stand By Me.
Building a Life Together Off-Camera
David revealed that once the television cameras and crew departed, they faced the challenge of relearning to love each other in a natural, everyday environment. "I think that process is just as exciting as falling for each other on the show," he reflected. "I don't think we ever could have expected to start something this amazing from a show which, you know, seems so distant at the very beginning."
Now, with the birth of Willa Mae, the couple's dream of starting a family on the farm has become a reality. As they embrace parenthood, fans of the show celebrate this beautiful outcome from a reality TV romance that blossomed into a lasting love story.
