Hemsworth twins make TV debut in Spanish thriller

Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky's twin boys are following in their parents' footsteps by making their television series debut in a Spanish thriller. The Hollywood power couple's 12-year-old sons, Tristan and Sasha, star alongside their mother in the new Spanish TV series The Tribute, where they play the sons of Pataky's character.

Natural Performers

Pataky told Woman's Day that acting came easily to them. "They had never done anything with lines before, but it was a very easy sequence because they were playing my sons," she said. "They loved it because they're always on set."

A source close to the family revealed that the twins aspire to emulate their famous Australian father. "They're mini clones of their dad, and they have every intention of growing up to be a world-famous hero like him," the source said. "They go to the gym with him, surf with him – they even eat the same as their dad. Elsa thinks it's hilarious to see two miniature versions of Chris, and she's very proud of them. She's been showing them the basics of acting."

Previous Marvel Appearance

This is not the twins' first time on screen. They, along with their 14-year-old sister India, appeared in the 2022 Marvel film Thor: Love & Thunder. India played the character Love, while Tristan played a young Thor, and Sasha appeared as one of the Asgardian children.

About The Tribute

The Tribute is a Spanish-language production, now streaming on Sky Showtime. It is an eight-part series about a powerful dynasty with dark secrets. Pataky plays the troubled eldest daughter of the family's ageing patriarch.

Casting Surprise

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last month, the 49-year-old actress revealed that casting the twins was unexpected until the eleventh hour. Pataky, who is also an executive producer on the show, said the scene with her children was shot in Australia, where the family lives in Byron Bay.

"The director said we had to shut down the production in Spain, and we were not going to pay for everybody to go to Australia," she explained. "I said, 'No problem, we'll do it. I'll get my husband, I'll get my kids, and get my brother behind the camera.' We shot it very simply, with one camera. Of course, Chris was there, and it was close to my house. It's a little surprise. And it's so unexpected."

Family Life in Byron Bay

The Hemsworths got married in 2010 and moved to their Byron Bay farm from Los Angeles in 2015 after the paparazzi and constant spotlight in the US became too much. "It was right around the time my boys were born, and we kind of were set up in LA and not enjoying it, you know?" Hemsworth told the SmartLess podcast. "Nothing was shooting there. We were filming kind of everywhere else. And then … you'd come home and paparazzi and all the trappings of living in that space."
