An elderly man with dementia has gone missing from Berkeley, prompting an urgent appeal from police for public assistance to locate him.
Details of the disappearance
Arthur Reedy, aged 89, was last spotted on Nottingham Street at approximately 11:30am on Thursday, April 30. Authorities have expressed significant concern for his welfare due to his dementia diagnosis.
Mr Reedy is described as Caucasian with a thin build, standing between 170 and 175 centimetres tall. He has light grey, receding hair and is unshaven.
Description of clothing and vehicle
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a grey flannelette shirt, grey or blue work pants, and possibly blue and black slippers, according to a NSW Police spokesperson.
It is believed that Mr Reedy may be driving a white 1989 Toyota Hilux with NSW registration JB-877. He is known to frequent the Woonona and Corrimal areas.
Appeal for information
Police are urging anyone with information regarding Mr Reedy's whereabouts to come forward. They are also seeking information on other long-term missing persons last seen or heard from in the Illawarra region.
