Sheila The Label Launches Groundbreaking Buy One, Donate One Initiative

Sheila The Label, the Australian swimwear brand celebrated for its sustainable, size-inclusive designs, is making waves beyond the poolside. Known for its elevated yet effortless styles that have captured the attention of everyday Aussie women and Hollywood icons like Oprah Winfrey, the brand is now launching its first-ever Buy One, Donate One campaign. This initiative aims to transform the lives of women escaping domestic violence situations, partnering with the Northern Beaches Women's Shelter to provide essential support.

From Corporate Roots to Community Impact

Founded in June 2023 by Clare Barrins, a Silicon Valley executive and Australian mother of three, Sheila The Label emerged from her experience as a full-time employee at JP Morgan and Westpac. What started as a side project has blossomed into a carefully curated brand that fills a significant gap in the market for affordable, sustainable, and size-inclusive swimwear. The brand's success is evident in its sellout creations and cult-favorite pieces, such as the Mina One Piece and Cate Rash Vest, the latter of which recently earned an Oprah Swim O-Ward.

Core Values in Action

For every full-priced item purchased until March 31st, founder Clare Barrins will donate one item to the Northern Beaches Women's Shelter. This partnership extends the brand's core values beyond aesthetics, focusing on supporting women in how they live, move, and feel. Barrins explains, "Sheila was founded to support women, in how they move, how they feel, and how confidently they show up in the world. But not every woman has the freedom, safety, or stability to feel supported in their daily life."

She adds, "At its core, Sheila is about feeling held, physically, emotionally, and socially. This campaign was inspired by the belief that clothing can be more than something you wear; it can be something that gives back dignity, comfort, and a sense of being seen during an incredibly difficult time."

Elevated Designs for Everyday Life

Sheila The Label offers eleven core styles across eight different colorways, designed to seamlessly transition from the gym to swim to the street. With a size range from XS to 2XL, the brand prioritizes inclusivity and functionality, making everyday activities effortless for all body types. The collection includes standout items like the Grace Mini Swim Shorts and Nellie Scoop Bikini Top, which have become staples for their versatility and comfort.

Tangible Impact and Community Empowerment

The Buy One, Donate One initiative is not just about immediate donations; it's about sparking conversations around women supporting women. Barrins emphasizes, "We hope to create tangible impact for women who need it most, while also encouraging our community to shop with intention. Every donated item represents comfort, coverage and care, things many of us take for granted, but which can mean everything to someone rebuilding their life."

She continues, "Beyond the immediate donations, we want to spark conversation around women supporting women, and remind people that empowerment doesn’t stop at confidence or style, it extends to safety, dignity and solidarity."

About the Northern Beaches Women's Shelter

The Northern Beaches Women's Shelter (NBWS), formerly known as Manly Women's Shelter, is a non-profit, community-funded organization that provides crisis accommodation, support, safety, and services for homeless women across Sydney's Northern Beaches. Established by and for the community, NBWS serves as a safe haven where women can rebuild their lives, reclaim their independence, and rejoin society.

For those in need, support is available through resources like the National Domestic and Family Violence Counselling Line (1800RESPECT), Link2home 24-hour Homeless Crisis Line (1800 152 152), and Lifeline (13 11 14).
