WA Day Set for Adrenaline-Fuelled BMX Spectacle
The skies over Burswood Park will be filled with soaring BMX riders this WA Day long weekend, as the acclaimed Hardwired Entertainment crew prepares to unleash a breathtaking display of extreme sports. The company, which has evolved into a leading stunt performance group, is set to showcase years of dedicated practice in front of massive crowds on November 22 and 23, 2025.
Gravity-Defying Stunts and Inflatable Landings
Attendees can expect a heart-stopping spectacle of professional riders executing complex aerial maneuvers. The performance will feature riders launching from a specialised BMX ramp to perform backflips, 360s, and even letting go of their bikes metres in the air, before landing safely on a portable, inflatable airbag.
Co-founder Brayden Davies provided a glimpse into the action, confirming the crew's arsenal of tricks. "They’ll roll in with some speed and be doing backflips, 360s and letting go of the bike — it’s pretty cool to watch," Mr Davies said. He emphasised that while the inflatable lander minimises risk, the sport remains intensely demanding. "It’s tonnes of talent, but it’s a lot of hard work as well. These guys are out practising week after week, day after day."
Meet the Riders and Festival Details
The high-flying action will be delivered by a talented team of professional riders, including Todd Meyn, Shane Ellis, and Jake Greaves. Hardwired Entertainment is no stranger to the Burswood venue, having previously performed freestyle motocross displays there, and the crew is eager to return to the impressive backdrop of Optus Stadium and Crown Towers.
The WA Day Festival is a major community event made possible by support from BHP, the WA Government, and Lotterywest. Patrons are encouraged to use public transport to access Burswood Park. For more details, visit the official website at waday.com.
