10% Are Human Predators, Expert Warns in Chilling Report

A world-leading authority on dark personalities has issued a chilling warning that some of the most dangerous individuals walk among us, constituting approximately 10 per cent of the global population.

Identifying Human Predators in Society

In the final episode of Seven's Kiss and Kill investigation, human behaviour researcher Karen Mitchell provides detailed insights on how to spot human predators and discloses the professions they are frequently attracted to.

Mitchell explains that while only a small fraction of these individuals engage in physical violence, all of them exhibit a strong desire to control and manipulate others.

"What my research shows is that they're all equally as dangerous, but the way they choose to harm and disadvantage and destroy is different," she stated.

Brain Differences and Emotional Deficits

According to Mitchell, this personality type is estimated to make up 10 per cent of the population and is associated with structural differences in the prefrontal cortex of the brain.

"So because of these brain differences, they do not emote, so they don't feel joy, they don't feel love, they don't feel shame or fear," she elaborated.

This lack of emotional experience leads them to perceive themselves as superior, as they do not encounter fear in the same way as others.

Professions Attracting Dark Personalities

The research further indicates that people with dark personality traits may be overrepresented in professional roles that offer power, status, and influence.

  • Business leadership positions
  • Justice and law enforcement agencies
  • Medical fields
  • Religious institutions

Notable cases, such as wife killers Gerard Baden-Clay and Borce Ristevski, have been described as grandiose narcissists who deceived their families and authorities.
