A teenager is in a critical condition after being thrown from a dirt bike when it collided with a fence in the New South Wales Southern Highlands.
The 14-year-old boy was riding at Pheasants Nest when the accident occurred about 4:30pm on Tuesday, April 28.
Multiple paramedic crews and police officers were called to Nightingale Road following reports of the crash.
"On arrival, officers attached to the Camden Police Area Command were told a 14-year-old boy had been ejected from a dirt bike following a collision with a fence," a NSW Police spokesperson said.
The teenager was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to Westmead Children's Hospital in a critical condition.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The crash serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with off-road motorcycle riding, particularly for young and inexperienced riders. Authorities continue to emphasise the importance of wearing appropriate safety gear and adhering to safe riding practices.
