In a moving tribute published in The West Australian, Michael's family described him as a "beloved son" to his parents and an "amazing brother" to his three siblings. "We were so lucky to share 11 wonderful years with you," the obituary stated. "You will be deeply missed and always loved."
Michael's mother also shared a personal message online as part of a fundraiser, referring to her son as "my son and best friend 4 life." The family's words highlight the deep bond and immense loss felt by those closest to the young boy.

The fatal crash occurred on April 6 outside Lakeside Villas on Mandurah Terrace. Michael was visiting a friend who was staying at the villas before he traveled on a push scooter down a steep driveway and across the busy road. He was struck by a blue Mazda sedan in the tragic accident.
Despite being rushed by St John WA to Peel Health Campus, the 11-year-old later succumbed to his critical injuries. The driver of the car, a 46-year-old man, stopped at the scene to assist and has not been charged by major crash investigators at this stage.

Off-duty nurse Nicole Jones, who drove past the scene, attempted to save Michael's life. "I had just finished a nursing shift and went to pick up my son when I drove by and saw a lot of people around not sure what to do," she recounted. Jones noted that the driver was "in a lot of shock and very upset" and suggested that, based on what she heard, the incident may have been unavoidable.
Jones expressed her condolences to Michael's parents, saying, "Just thoughts and prayers for mum and dad. I'm sorry I couldn't have done more." She also emphasized that this tragedy should serve as a stark reminder about road safety, particularly concerning scooter riders.
Initially, WA Police reported that the boy was riding an e-scooter, but they later clarified that he was on a push scooter. Tributes have been left at the crash site, reflecting the community's mourning and support for the grieving family.
