A man has been taken into custody in Adelaide after allegedly stabbing another individual before pursuing the ambulance transporting the victim and attempting to forcibly enter the vehicle while armed with a knife.

According to police reports, emergency services were dispatched to Marion Road in Netley at approximately 1:30 PM on Wednesday following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 32-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to his legs. The victim received immediate medical attention at the scene before being transported to hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Ambulance Bay Confrontation Escalates Situation
The situation intensified dramatically when the ambulance arrived at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Police allege that the suspect, armed with a knife and making threats, attempted to enter the emergency vehicle as paramedics were unloading the injured man. Officers reported that the individual pushed toward the ambulance in what appeared to be another attempt to reach the victim.
Authorities have confirmed that no additional stabbing occurred inside the hospital emergency bay, and no paramedics or hospital staff sustained injuries during the confrontation.
City-Wide Police Search and Arrest
Following the hospital incident, the suspect fled the scene in a Porsche, triggering a significant police search across Adelaide. The vehicle was eventually tracked to the South Eastern Freeway at Mount Osmond, where patrols located it stopped on the roadside and apprehended the driver.
Assistant Commissioner John De Candia stated that both men involved in the incident are currently not cooperating with police investigators.
