A major investigation is underway after a human body was discovered on a walking track in South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula region.
Discovery at Inman Valley
The grim find was made by a member of the public along the South Alma walking track, located off Mount Alma Road in Inman Valley, approximately 80 kilometres south of Adelaide. Police were notified and arrived at the scene around 5:30pm on Friday evening.
Officers from the Hills Fleurieu police station attended, along with crime scene investigators and detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Branch. The area was immediately cordoned off to preserve evidence as forensic teams began their examination.
Police Investigation Ongoing
Authorities have confirmed that the body had been present at the location for an extended period before its discovery.
