Swans stage last-quarter comeback to beat Port Adelaide by three

The Sydney Swans have produced another stunning last-quarter fightback, edging out Port Adelaide by three points in a gripping contest at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.

Power Surge Falls Short

Port Adelaide appeared poised for an upset when they held a nine-point lead heading into the final term. However, Isaac Heeney and Chad Warner delivered colossal performances in the last quarter to swing momentum back in Sydney's favour.

With the Swans nursing a slender three-point advantage in the dying minutes, James Rowbottom emerged as an unlikely hero. He brilliantly roved a pack and slotted the match-sealing goal, sending the Sydney faithful into raptures.

The Power refused to surrender and set up a frantic finish when Jordon Sweet kicked truly to reduce the margin to three points with just 37 seconds remaining. But this time, there was no miraculous escape for Port Adelaide.

Swans' Resurgence Continues

This marks the second consecutive week that Sydney has overturned a last-quarter deficit. In round 13, Jai Serong kicked the match-winner to sink St Kilda. The victory improves the Swans' imposing record to 12-2 ahead of their bye next week.

Sydney now holds a three-game buffer over third place and appears destined for a top-two finish. Heeney was magnificent, amassing 30 disposals and a goal, while Warner contributed 26 touches and a major. Up forward, Charlie Curnow and Logan McDonald each kicked three goals, and veteran Jake Lloyd added two, including a cracking goal in the final term.
