15-Year-Old IPL Sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Gets India Call-Up
Teen IPL Star Sooryavanshi Called Up to India T20 Squad

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the teenage sensation of the Indian Premier League, has received his first call-up to the senior India squad for the upcoming T20 series against Ireland and England. The 15-year-old opener has taken the cricketing world by storm with his explosive batting.

Record-Breaking IPL Performance

Sooryavanshi amassed 776 runs in the 2026 IPL season for Rajasthan Royals at an astonishing strike rate of 237.30, earning him the Most Valuable Player award. His performances have been nothing short of phenomenal, including a match-winning 175 against England in the Under-19 World Cup final earlier this year.

International Debut on the Horizon

He is set to make his international debut in Belfast, where India will face Ireland in two T20s on June 26 and 28. Following that, India takes on England in a five-match series from July 1 to 11, which could see Sooryavanshi face his Rajasthan Royals teammate Jofra Archer.

If he plays, Sooryavanshi will become India's youngest debutant, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar, who made his debut at 16 years and 205 days in 1989.

Team Changes and Rest

Shreyas Iyer will captain India in both series, replacing Suryakumar Yadav, who has been dropped despite leading India to a T20 World Cup victory earlier this year. Yadav had a modest IPL, averaging 20.76 in 13 innings. Jasprit Bumrah has been rested due to struggles in the IPL, and Hardik Pandya also sits out. Uncapped fast bowler Prince Yadav has been called up.
