Bayswater FC will face a tantalising clash against A-League powerhouse Sydney FC, and Fremantle City FC will travel interstate for their own contest, following the Australia Cup round of 32 draw last week.
Record Participation in National Knockout
The Australia Cup, Football Australia's national knockout competition, this year featured a record 777 clubs from all divisions — including grassroots, regional and professional — competing for cup glory. Australian A-League teams join the competition in the round of 32.
Five-time champions, this year's runner-up and two-time Australia Cup winners Sydney FC have been drawn to travel to Frank Drago Reserve to tackle Bayswater FC on July 21.
Bayswater's Strong Form
Bayswater FC were National Premier Leagues WA champions in 2025 and qualified for the inaugural Australia Championship, a national second-tier championship, narrowly missing out on advancing to the knockout stages on goal difference. They currently sit second on the NPLWA table.
Fremantle City qualified for the round of 32 with a 3-1 win over Olympic Kingsway last month and will travel to NSW on July 22 to face Maitland FC.
First-Time Participants
It is the first time Fremantle has reached the round of 32, joining other first-time participants Azzurri United FC, North Sunshine Eagles FC, Preston Lions FC, Kingborough Lions United FC, Marlin Coast Rangers FC, Rochedale Rovers FC, Cumberland United FC, and FK Beograd. Fremantle City currently sit sixth on the NPLWA ladder.
Perth Glory travel to Queensland to face Lions FC on July 21.
Match Schedule and Tickets
The 16 games will be played across six days beginning on July 14, with the winners advancing to the round of 16 in August. Tickets for Bayswater's game against Sydney FC are available from the club.
