South Africa delivered a commanding performance to beat England 42-15 in the Nations Championship at Twickenham on Saturday, securing a bonus-point victory with six tries.
First Half Dominance
The Springboks raced to a 21-5 lead by halftime, with tries from winger Cheslin Kolbe, fullback Willie le Roux, and flanker Siya Kolisi. England's only response was a try from scrum-half Harry Randall, converted by fly-half Marcus Smith.
South Africa's physicality and set-piece dominance were evident, as they won 80% of their lineouts and disrupted England's scrum repeatedly.
Second Half Surge
In the second half, the Springboks added three more tries through replacements Kwagga Smith, Herschel Jantjies, and a second for Kolbe. England managed a consolation try from winger Ollie Hassell-Collins and a penalty from Smith.
According to Springboks head coach Rassie Erasmus, "The boys executed our game plan perfectly. We wanted to be physical and take our chances, and we did that."
Key Statistics
South Africa dominated possession (62%) and territory (68%), making 142 tackles to England's 98. They also gained 520 meters with ball in hand, compared to England's 310.
The win moves South Africa to the top of the Nations Championship standings, while England drops to fourth after their second consecutive loss.
