Novak Djokovic produced a vintage display to sweep aside Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2, and book his place in the fourth round of Wimbledon. The 37-year-old Serb, chasing a record-equalling eighth Wimbledon title, showed no signs of slowing down as he outclassed the Greek world number 12 on Centre Court.
Dominant Display from Djokovic
Djokovic, seeded second, broke Tsitsipas early in the first set and never looked back. His serve was near-impeccable, winning 82% of points on his first delivery, while his return game dismantled Tsitsipas's rhythm. The Greek fought valiantly in the second set, pushing Djokovic to a tie-break, but the Serb's experience shone through as he took control.
Tsitsipas, 25, struggled to find answers to Djokovic's relentless baseline play and deft drop shots. The match lasted two hours and 14 minutes, with Djokovic converting five of his 11 break-point opportunities.
Tsitsipas Acknowledges Djokovic's Class
After the match, Tsitsipas praised his opponent: "Novak is a legend of the game. He makes you feel like you have no options out there. I tried my best, but he was just too good today."
Djokovic, who missed the 2025 tournament due to injury, said: "I feel great on this court. The crowd gives me so much energy, and I'm playing some of my best tennis. I'm enjoying every moment."
Looking Ahead
Djokovic will next face either Jannik Sinner or Frances Tiafoe in the fourth round. A win would set up a potential quarter-final clash with Carlos Alcaraz, the defending champion. Djokovic's victory keeps him on course for a historic eighth Wimbledon title, which would tie Roger Federer's record.
The Serb has now won 12 consecutive matches at the All England Club, a streak dating back to 2023. He is also seeking to extend his record for most Grand Slam titles, currently at 24.
