Dry conditions are forecast for Canberra's home NRL clash against the Cronulla Sharks on Sunday, as the Raiders aim to recover from a tense 14-10 loss to the Canterbury Bulldogs. However, the match was overshadowed by severe issues at GIO Stadium, where torrential rain caused leaks in the changerooms and led to a dangerous incident involving Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo. Glass shattered on Ciraldo, requiring him to receive stitches, and he later stated that the stadium had not contacted him about the mishap.
Post-match, Stuart did not mince words, calling the stadium shithouse, a sentiment that has fueled calls for the ACT government to replace or rebuild the facility. Despite the controversy, Stuart is now concentrating on the upcoming clash against the Sharks, which could see the debut of 21-year-old Joe Roddy. With destructive forward Josh Papali'i suspended for one match due to a high shot, Stuart has promoted Roddy to the bench and moved Englishman Morgan Smithies into the No.8 jersey.
