A serious crash on the Midland train line has forced the closure of a road in Perth’s east on Wednesday afternoon, causing major disruptions for commuters.
Incident Details
The crash occurred on Meadow Street at Great Eastern Highway in Guildford, as reported by Main Roads at 4:05 PM. The incident has led to the cancellation of train services between Bayswater and Midland.
Transperth has warned that the disruption is also causing delays on the Airport, Ellenbrook, and Fremantle train lines. “Train replacement buses are being organised between Bayswater and Midland. Please allow extra travelling time and be aware that replacement buses may not connect with timetabled bus and train services,” a Transperth spokesperson said.
Road Closure and Traffic
Meadow Street has been closed in both directions, and emergency services are currently at the scene. Traffic is heavy approaching the incident site, and Main Roads has urged motorists to find alternative routes if planning to travel in the area.
More details are expected to emerge as the situation develops.
