Brisbane Family Seeks Answers After Son's London Fall

A Brisbane family is desperate for answers after their 21-year-old son fell to his death in London last week. Fletcher Beasley, a Queensland University of Technology (QUT) law student, died after falling from a height at Victoria Embankment around 2am last Thursday.

Tragedy on the Thames

The Brisbane Boys’ College graduate was with his girlfriend and friends in the popular riverside area along the Thames when the tragedy occurred. British media reported the incident shut down the road for more than a day, with the London coroner now launching an inquest into his death.

Fletcher is being remembered as funny, loyal, curious about the world and deeply generous by those who knew him. His parents, Katrina and Matt, have described their son’s loss as immeasurable. Fletcher leaves behind two siblings.

Family Seeks Answers

His father Matt has flown to the UK as the family seeks answers into exactly what happened. The family says it has been overwhelmed with support received for a fundraiser established in Fletcher’s memory. Due to the generosity shown, they now plan to set up a Fletcher Beasley fund to help others in similar situations.

The London coroner is holding an inquest to determine the circumstances surrounding the fall. The incident has left the family and friends of the young law student grappling with grief and unanswered questions.
