Police are hunting for a knifeman who slashed a driver after stopping his car in Western Sydney on Monday night. The victim, a 35-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his arm and face.
Attack Details
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Luxford Road and Quakers Hill Parkway in Quakers Hill around 9:30 pm after reports of a stabbing. According to police, the driver was stopped at traffic lights when a man approached his vehicle and slashed him with a knife. The attacker then fled on foot.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition. He is expected to undergo surgery for his injuries.
Police Investigation
Police have established a crime scene and are conducting forensic examinations. They are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspect. The attacker is described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, wearing dark clothing, and possibly known to the victim.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to come forward,” said Detective Inspector John Smith of the Quakers Hill Police Station. “This was a brazen attack in a public place, and we are determined to bring the offender to justice.”
