ACT Policing have identified a teenage boy accused of committing an indecent act against a massage therapist at a Wanniassa day spa, following three separate incidents of harassment in May and June 2026. Police confirmed on July 7 that the suspect was located the same day they issued a public appeal for information, though no arrests or charges have been made at this stage.
Three Incidents at Wanniassa Spa
According to investigators, the alleged offender was part of a group of young people who visited the massage and day spa on three occasions. On May 20, the group allegedly entered the business carrying a large PVC plastic pipe and verbally harassed staff members. During a second visit on May 27, one member of the group walked to the back of the premises and committed an indecent act toward a staff member. On June 9, police allege the same teenager confronted a spa employee and threw a drink at them.
Police Investigation and Public Appeal
ACT Policing appealed for public assistance on July 7 to identify the boy accused of the indecent act. A police spokeswoman confirmed that the suspect was identified later that day. “No arrests or charges have been laid at this time,” the spokeswoman said. The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not disclosed the age of the boy or whether he will face charges.
Impact on Spa Employees
The repeated incidents have raised concerns about safety for workers at the business. The massage therapist who was targeted has not commented publicly, but police have noted the distress caused to staff. The case highlights ongoing issues of harassment and indecent behaviour in workplace settings, particularly in service industries where employees may be vulnerable.
