Teen charged with murder after stabbing death of 15-year-old

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder following the stabbing death of 15-year-old Darweish Mohamed in Melbourne's north. Darweish was found bleeding in the carpark of a medical centre on Lygon Drive in Craigieburn about 7:50pm on Wednesday. A Craigieburn Community Hospital employee attempted CPR, but he could not be saved.

Police investigation uncovers fight before stabbing

Police have obtained footage of a fight that occurred before the alleged stabbing and believe Darweish was ambushed by a group of youths. Four people have been arrested so far. A burnt-out car linked to the incident was found on a nearby roadside and is under investigation.

Tributes and fundraiser for victim

Heartfelt tributes have been posted on social media, including a video montage of Darweish dancing and smiling with friends. The acronyms “LLD” (long live Darweish) and “E4D” (everything for Darweish) have flooded comments. A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created to help his family with funeral costs. Organiser Mohamed Bakhit said, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved brother, Darweish. No family should ever have to go through a loss like this, and our hearts are with his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
