Two people have been hospitalised following a two-car collision on a major road in south Canberra on Saturday afternoon. Emergency services responded to the incident on Adelaide Avenue near Yarralumla around 5.15pm on June 27.
Firefighters rescue trapped occupant
ACT Fire and Rescue crews worked to free an occupant trapped in one of the vehicles involved in the crash. A picture by Karleen Minney showed firefighters at the scene extricating the person from the wreckage.
Two individuals were subsequently transported to hospital. Their current medical condition has not been disclosed by authorities.
Police investigation underway
Police remain at the scene as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. City-bound lanes of Adelaide Avenue near Yarralumla remained closed as of 6.30pm, and the community has been advised to avoid the area.
