Canberra Airport Open Day Returns with Aerobatic Star Jett Bennet

The highly anticipated Canberra Airport open day is set to make a spectacular comeback this Saturday, promising to be bigger and more exciting than ever. The event will be headlined by 20-year-old aerobatic prodigy Jett Bennet, who is poised to dominate the skies with his breathtaking performances.

Aviation Royalty Takes Flight

Jett Bennet is no stranger to the world of aviation, being the son of Australia's renowned aerobatic pilot, Paul Bennet. From a toddler taking his first flight with his father to flying solo by the age of 15, Jett's passion for aviation has been a lifelong journey. "I've always had a passion for it," Jett shared. "Growing up around it, it's just what I knew. My dad was into planes, and I'd be mad not to take the opportunity in front of me."

On Saturday, Jett will pilot the Wolf Pitts 360, a high-performance aerobatic biplane sourced from the United States and the only one of its kind in Australia. Powered by a robust engine exceeding 200 horsepower, this aircraft will enable Jett to deliver a 12-minute high-energy solo aerobatic display packed with rolls, loops, and precision manoeuvres. Shows are scheduled for 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM.

The airport encourages ticket holders who cannot attend to cancel their reservations to allow others the opportunity.

To facilitate access, Canberra Airport is offering a free park-and-ride shuttle bus service. Additionally, on Saturday, free travel will be available from local interchanges to the city bus interchange, where visitors can transfer to the shuttle bus.

Behind the Name and Journey

Jett's name fittingly reflects his aviation heritage, chosen by his mother, a former flight attendant, while his father was a pilot. Currently residing on-site at Rutherford airport in the Hunter Valley, Jett will fly to Goulburn for refuelling before heading straight to the open day, showcasing his dedication and skill.

This event not only highlights Jett Bennet's rising star in the aviation world but also offers the public a unique chance to experience the thrill of flight up close. With its combination of aerobatic displays, rare aircraft, and community-focused amenities, the Canberra Airport open day is set to be an unforgettable celebration of aviation excellence.
