Edith Cowan University has strengthened its city presence with the $72 million purchase of Kings Square 3 at 10 Telethon Avenue in the CBD.

Strategic Investment for Future Growth

Located only 150 metres from its city campus, the nine-level A-grade commercial building is a strategic investment to support ECU’s future growth amid significant demand for courses.

The acquisition broadens the student campus with 9500 square metres of office space, ground-floor retail, child care facilities, and basement parking. Several currently vacant floors could be converted into lecture theatres immediately.

Vice-Chancellor’s Vision

Vice-Chancellor Clare Pollock said the purchase will allow the introduction of programs currently not offered, particularly in post-graduate studies.

“This is about creating opportunities that simply did not exist in Perth before 2026,” Professor Pollock said.

“Opportunities for students to study right in the heart of the action, to collaborate with industry partners on their doorstep, and to be part of a vibrant, connected university presence,” she said.

“Perth is evolving, and we’re proud to be part of that transformation. Securing Kings Square 3 gives us the capacity to grow alongside our students and better connect them with industry and the opportunities that come with being in the CBD.”

Expanding Campus Network

Professor Pollock said the new building adds to existing campuses in the CBD, Joondalup, the South West, and Sri Lanka.

“This is about building on what we already offer across our campuses and creating even more opportunities for our students — and our staff,” Professor Pollock said.

The property was sold by Dexus and funded solely by the university.
