School principal Deanne Wallwork shared the devastating news with parents and caregivers in a letter obtained by 7NEWS.com.au, writing with "a heavy heart" about the student's passing. "Our thoughts and sincere sympathies go out to their family, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time," Wallwork expressed in her correspondence to the school community.
The principal issued an urgent appeal to guardians regarding social media activity in the wake of the tragedy. "We kindly ask for your support in monitoring your children's use of social media over the coming days," Wallwork advised, emphasizing that while many posts may come from genuine concern, online speculation could cause additional distress to grieving individuals.

The school's Year 12 graduation ceremony, scheduled just four days after the tragic incident, was carefully adapted to honor the student's memory while supporting the grieving community.
