Aubin Grove Easter Fair Returns with Live Music, Markets and Family Fun
The annual Easter Fair is hopping back into Aubin Grove this Saturday, bringing a vibrant mix of live music, twilight markets, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny. For the third consecutive year, the City of Cockburn has partnered with the Aubin Grove Community Association to deliver this popular community celebration, which promises roving entertainment and festive Easter activities for all ages.
Event Details and Community Expectations
The free event will take place at Aubin Grove Reserve from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM this Easter Saturday. Aubin Grove Community Association President Geoff Webb expressed excitement about the fair, noting that based on previous years' success, they are anticipating over 6,000 visitors. "Everybody is still talking about last year's huge event and asking if we are going ahead again," Webb said. "It was absolutely brilliant in 2025 and we're busily preparing for an even bigger and better fair."
Entertainment and Activities for Families
Families can enjoy a wide range of Easter-themed activities, including:
- Easter crafts and face painting for creative fun
- Inflatable slides and obstacle courses for active play
- A special appearance by the Easter Bunny for photo opportunities
- Demonstrations from the Jandakot volunteer bushfire brigade to educate and entertain
The event will be soundtracked by a performance from Claudia Tripp, the 2025 WA Country Music Awards Female Artist of the Year, adding a musical highlight to the festivities.
Food and Market Offerings
A selection of food vendors will be on hand, serving everything from handmade spring rolls to freshly dusted donuts. The AGCA twilight markets will feature several local stalls, including:
- Handcrafted soaps for unique gifts
- Gift engraving services for personalization
- Dragon roast coffee for caffeine enthusiasts
Environmental and Community Impact
Webb highlighted the importance of the partnership with the City of Cockburn, which supports the association's environmental and community projects. "We have a great partnership with the City of Cockburn to stage this large event which helps our market raise more funds to continue funding projects that improve the local environment," he explained. The funds are used for initiatives such as:
- Rehabilitating parts of Banksia Woodland Reserve through weeding and planting
- Installing a purple bench in collaboration with the Centre for Women's Safety and Wellbeing
- Revegetation efforts, including planting more trees in Aubin Grove parklands
- Upgrading barbecue and shade areas for community use
Additionally, the event is carbon neutral, with the City of Cockburn offsetting emissions through investments in native tree planting and the permanent cancellation of international carbon credits.
Community Significance and Mayor's Statement
Cockburn Mayor Logan Howlett emphasized the event's importance for fostering community connections. "Our community comes out in force to support the city's events, which are part of the extensively varied and popular 2025-2026 Cockburn LIVE program," he said. "The Easter Fair is a tradition for many families and it's heart-warming to give members of the community an opportunity to gather to make new memories and strengthen connections." This fair not only provides entertainment but also reinforces the social fabric of the Aubin Grove area, making it a cherished annual tradition.
