Jules Neale made her first public appearance since her separation from Brisbane Lions star Lachie Neale, attending the Australian Open as a guest of Piper-Heidsieck champagne. She was spotted courtside for Alex de Minaur's match against Carlos Alcaraz, sharing a playful Instagram post: “Girls just wanna have fun.. at the AO.”
Jules appeared relaxed, posing for photos with friend Gabrielle Morrone. Jules wore a matching pink outfit, while Morrone wore a coco-coloured set to cope with Melbourne's heatwave. Morrone posted on Instagram: “COMING IN HOT BABY❤️🔥 AO READY @jules_neale.”
The outing marks Jules' first major public event since the couple's separation became public late last year. Lachie confirmed the split in December, stepping down as Brisbane Lions co-captain and apologising to his wife and family for “letting them down.” He said he took “full responsibility” for the end of their relationship.
Days before Christmas, Jules posted on Instagram that she had been “betrayed” after reports suggested the couple were “working through” their issues. She wrote: “I want to make it very clear that I am not ‘working through’ anything. All I can do now is try to heal and do what’s best for my children.”
Jules removed photos of Lachie from her Instagram and unfollowed him and former close friend Tess Crosley. She and the couple's children—four-year-old Piper and one-year-old Freddie—have moved back to Perth, where Lachie began his AFL career with Fremantle. Lachie said his focus was on “rebuilding trust with Jules and the future wellbeing of our children.”
