Homicide detectives are investigating the tragic death of a 19-year-old man following a stabbing in Perth's southern suburbs on Christmas Eve. Police have confirmed one arrest and are actively searching for other individuals connected to the incident.
Details of the Christmas Eve Attack
The violent episode unfolded on Wednesday, 24 December 2025, in the suburb of Aubin Grove. Emergency services were called to the carpark of a shopping centre on Talisker Gate at approximately 10:40pm after reports of an assault.
Upon arrival, police and paramedics discovered a young man, aged 19, suffering from serious stab wounds. He was rushed from the scene by ambulance for urgent medical treatment but later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Police Investigation and Arrest
A spokesperson for the Western Australia Police Force provided an update on Friday, 26 December. They confirmed that a male person, known to the victim, is currently in custody and is being questioned by homicide squad detectives as part of their ongoing probe.
"A male person known to the victim is in custody and detectives are in the process of locating other people involved in the incident," the spokeswoman stated. She moved to reassure the local community, adding, "This appears to be an isolated incident and homicide detectives have no ongoing concerns for the community’s safety."

While one person has been arrested, the investigation remains active. Police are urging anyone with information who was in the vicinity of Talisker Gate around the time of the stabbing to come forward.
