The historic Bayswater Hotel has launched 'Baysie's Triplestack Showdown' — a towering 4.5kg burger challenge that dares diners to conquer it in under an hour.
Challenge Details
For $90, brave participants can take on the colossal burger triplestack, with exactly 60 minutes to clear their plate. Those who succeed will walk away with a $180 Bayswater Hotel voucher and an exclusive Triple Stack Showdown T-shirt. However, those who fail will be $90 poorer but will have bragging rights for attempting Perth's biggest burger challenge.
The Burger Creation
The towering creation features four beef patties, cheese, bacon jam, crispy bacon, brisket, tomato, lettuce, red onion, dill pickles, yellow mustard, and the chef's homemade special sauce, all packed into freshly made focaccia. The monster burger was created by hotel head chef Gayan Geeganage, winner of WA's best steak sandwich competition in 2024 at Treendale Farm Hotel — another venue owned by the hotel's operator LocalsCo.
History and Rules
This is the first challenge of its kind for the Bayswater Hotel, which has been operating since 1898. While the venue has previously hosted hot wing and pizza eating contests, management says this is its most ambitious food challenge yet. The challenge must be completed solo, and no 'feeding any to the dog under the table' is allowed, according to the hotel's website. 'The eating challenge for anyone who's ever pushed back from the table and muttered 'yeah, I reckon I could've gone another one'. Well, here's your chance to prove it,' the site states. 'Tap out before the hour's up? No shame. The stack wins more rounds than it loses. But you'll still have one hell of a story.'
The challenge runs until midnight December 1. Bookings are essential and can be made online.
