Racing NSW presents a full card of 10 races at Rosehill this Saturday, July 2, 2026, with a mix of Midway, Highway, and handicap events. Here are the expert previews and tips for each race.
Race 1: Midway Handicap (1200m) – 11:05am
Island Dec (5) is the standout after an impressive Canterbury win two weeks ago, where she sat just off the pace and finished strongly. Back in Midway grade and suited by softer ground, she is hard to beat. Zounaka (6) is the logical danger, having chased hard for second in a Midway three weeks ago behind Island Dec's stablemate Smashing Time. Against The Law (12) races well without winning and is an each-way chance, while Last Druit (14) has two wins from three runs this preparation on soft or heavy tracks. Tip: Island Dec WIN.
Race 2: TAB Highway Handicap (1200m) – 11:40am
Polymer (14) has been unbeaten in his last two starts at Port Macquarie on wet tracks and steps up to Highway grade with a good each-way chance. She Within (22) is hard to beat if she gains a run, having won a Highway two starts back and running on late last time. Calypso Rocket (8) trialled strongly and draws barrier one, while Nirmata (12) showed promise at Muswellbrook and handles the trip. Tip: Polymer EACH-WAY.
Race 3: Thank You ATC Members Handicap (1100m) – 12:15pm
Omolong (1) is the starting point after a last-to-first win at Warwick Farm when heavily backed, dropping in weight after the claim. Satin Summer (3) won first-up at Randwick in January and trialled well. Kotor (14) is a debutant with two impressive trial wins at Rosehill, while Gatineau (5) is a cheap buy but showed promise in trials. Tip: Omolong WIN.
Race 4: Hitotsu At Arrowfield Handicap (1100m) – 12:50pm
Big Red Tequila (1) has a huge chance third-up after two strong runs behind Ice Kook at Randwick, hitting the line well and drawing better. Jellicious (2) has been disappointing but may improve back in distance. She Within (10) drops sharply in weight and suits a smaller field, while Gail Jeanette (9) was a dominant winner on heavy at Dubbo. Tip: Big Red Tequila WIN.
Race 5: Find Your Stakes Winner @ The Chase Handicap (1300m) – 1:25pm
Hello Captain (4) was a good thing beaten at Randwick when odds-on, flashing home late after being blocked. He drops 2kg and is the one to beat. Gorgeous (9) is costly but close up again, and Attractiveness (8) smashed her rivals at Newcastle resuming. Sequista (5) improves on the back up from last week. Tip: Hello Captain WIN.
Race 6: Kia Ora Bloodlines To Headlines Handicap (1100m) – 2:00pm
Shropshire Lad (3) scored three weeks ago and has been placed in this grade behind a stakes winner. Colombia Blue (7) can be ridden forward and trialled nicely. Polyglot (5) worked home well behind Ice Kool and likes Rosehill, while Formal (9) is an on-pacer down in weight. Tip: Shropshire Lad EACH-WAY.
Race 7: TAB Handicap (2000m) – 2:35pm
Mo Chroi (5) won impressively on Australian debut at Canterbury after a year off, scoring comfortably over 1550m. He will go forward and is the one with upside. Nasebah (12) made late ground at 1800m and handles wet tracks. Anythink Goes (4) is consistent and placed at odds, while Lincoln Rocks (1) improved last start. Tip: Mo Chroi WIN.
Race 8: Ranvet Handicap (1200m) – 3:15pm
Smashing Time (12) is in career-best form with two Midway wins from the front and drops in weight. Eye Of The Fire (5) is dangerous as a stalker after being run down first-up. Midnight Opal (7) loves wet tracks and held his ground, while Gatsby's (6) resumes after a good second-up win last campaign. Tip: Smashing Time WIN.
Race 9: Schweppes Winter Stakes (1400m) – 3:50pm
Midnight Dynamite (4) has an identical setup to his easy Civic win two weeks ago, rising 3kg but still the one to beat. General Salute (1) improves from a wide gate run and draws much better. Glorious Moments (15) jumps from a BM78 win into Listed grade, dropping 7.5kg. Accredited (3) ran third in this race last year and first-up was not bad. Tip: Midnight Dynamite WIN.
Race 10: Petaluma Handicap (1400m) – 4:30pm
Puntin (4) resumes after a poor preparation but was competitive with smart horses last year, trialling well and handling all ground. Invader Zim (13) has been close up behind Mr Chaplin and Glorious Moments. Supermassive (5) comes through the grades and draws kindly. Tarzing (9) won over track and distance last week but may want further. Tip: Puntin EACH-WAY.
