Two men have pulled off a dramatic citizen's arrest, stopping an alleged tiny home theft in its tracks.
Police allege two tiny homes were stolen from a rural Cooran property in the Sunshine Coast hinterland on Sunday morning, with one later located in Bli Bli, about 50 kilometres away.
Eduardo Giraldes told 7NEWS he had been riding his electric skateboard that day when he noticed a tiny home on a trailer parked on a suburban street.
Later back home, he came across a social media post appealing for help to locate the missing homes and realised what he had seen could be one of them.
He called his friend, jujitsu black belt holder Diego Sanches Nogueira, and the pair returned to the scene.
Giraldes approached the vehicle and knocked on the window.
"I knocked on the window, and he opened like this much… and said, 'what you want'," he told 7NEWS.
When the man attempted to leave, the pair said they used their own vehicle to block his path, took his keys and called police.
"We trust on you but just leave like that until police arrived," Nogueira said.
The man denied any wrongdoing.
"I didn't steal it… stop being heroes," he said in footage captured during the confrontation.
The situation could have turned physical, but Giraldes and Nogueira said they were prepared. Both weigh more than 100 kilograms and are trained in martial arts.
"I have a black belt and a guy my size is really strong," Nogueira said.
Police arrived shortly after and took the man into custody.
Further investigations led police to a second tiny home at a Tewantin property near Noosa.
A 40-year-old man has since been charged with stealing, including the alleged theft of the tiny home and the trailer.
He is expected to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court in May.
Investigations into the second home are ongoing with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
"Lucky we have a really happy ending and everything happened well," Nogueira said.
