Perth Glory re-sign Stefan Colakovski on one-year deal

Perth Glory have bolstered their attacking options by re-signing fan favourite winger Stefan Colakovski on a one-year contract extension. The 26-year-old has committed to the club until 2027 following a strong return from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury last season.

Colakovski's Impact Since Return

Colakovski rejoined Glory in January 2025 after spending two years with the club earlier in his career. In his second stint, he made 13 appearances — eight of which came off the bench — scoring three goals and providing two assists. His on-field flair and off-field charisma have endeared him to the Perth faithful, adding to his tally of nine goals in 37 appearances for the club.

Prior to his time with Glory, Colakovski played a pivotal role in Melbourne City's A-League grand final victory in 2021. His versatility adds balance to Perth's current attacking roster, which includes Jaiden Kucharski and Sebastian Despotovski.

Club Confidence in Colakovski

Glory football director Stan Lazaridis expressed confidence that Colakovski can continue to be a consistent contributor to the team's attack. "Cola proved just how dangerous he can be on a regular basis last season and we’re excited to see more of that from him again next year," Lazaridis said. "He’s a player whose level of output is outstanding and someone that our supporters relate to and love watching, plus his own passion for the club is there for all to see."

Lazaridis added that Colakovski's style of play aligns with coach Adam Griffiths' philosophy of high-tempo, attacking football. "Cola’s style of play really fits with the approach coach Adam Griffiths is looking to take in terms of playing high-tempo, attacking football and we’re delighted that he’ll be a Perth Glory player once again next season," he said.

Colakovski's re-signing follows the contract extension of young midfielder Gio De Abreu earlier this week, as Perth Glory continues to build its squad for the upcoming A-League season.
