Topping the list was the Woolworths Macro Organic Parmesan Block, praised for its nutty, salty flavor and crumbly yet creamy texture. It scored 8.5 out of 10, beating out pricier competitors.
The Surprise
Aldi's Emporium Selection Parmesan Block came a close second, offering excellent value at just $4.99 per 200g. Tasters noted its rich umami notes and firm texture, ideal for grating over pasta.
The Dud
The worst performer was Coles' pre-grated Parmesan, which tasters described as dry, powdery, and lacking flavor. It scored only 3 out of 10. "It tasted more like sawdust than cheese," one panelist remarked.
