Sydney Teacher Admits Sexually Abusing Two Male Students

A Sydney high school teacher has admitted to sexually abusing two male students in a shocking case that has come before the courts. Tayla Brailey, 32, pleaded guilty to having sex with a 17-year-old boy and sexually touching a 16-year-old boy during a hearing at Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday.

Details of the Guilty Plea and Charges

The guilty plea follows a plea deal struck with the prosecution, which resulted in all but seven charges being withdrawn. Brailey was initially arrested in August 2024 over sexual abuse offences involving the 17-year-old student and was granted conditional bail at that time.

Less than two weeks later, she was arrested again at her home in Wollongong on charges related to the 16-year-old boy. The court heard that Brailey sexually touched the older boy on July 25, 2025, just one day after sexually assaulting the younger student from another New South Wales suburb.

Additional Allegations and Current Status

In addition to the abuse charges, Brailey was accused of using a carriage service to send herself child abuse material, which she accessed later in the same month. The now-former teacher remains under strict bail conditions while the legal proceedings continue, with details in the statement yet to be certified.

She is scheduled to return to court for sentencing on March 26, where the full consequences of her actions will be determined. This case highlights serious concerns about misconduct in educational settings and the legal processes involved in such sensitive matters.
