The image, posted on Friday, shows a group of soccer players arriving ashore in a rusty boat driven by Williamson. Supporters in green and gold hold a banner reading "welcome our future Socceroos," while a Border Force vessel chases them in the background. The caption reads: "Smuggling next gen of Socceroos...on a shanty boat."
Public Backlash
Comments flooded the post, with many calling it "disgraceful." One user said, "Shame on you." Another wrote, "This isn't it." Some criticized the use of AI, with comments like "Get off ChatGPT...This isn't funny" and "AI generated slop."
The Socceroos were eliminated from the World Cup on Saturday after a penalty shootout loss to Egypt.
