Looking for cute activewear and gym essentials to keep you motivated for weekly Pilates sessions as temperatures drop? Look no further than MoveActive.
A long-time favourite brand of the 7You editors, our activewear drawers are overflowing with the Aussie label’s stylish Pilates socks. When we were offered the chance to road-test the brand’s latest Matcha-coloured collection, we jumped at the idea.
The collection includes workout essentials like ankle and wrist weights, Pilates balls, a reformer mat, resistance bands, and the iconic MoveActive grip socks. 7You’s editor Sophie and deputy editor Holly incorporated these pieces into their workouts for the past month. Here’s how they got on.
Sophie’s Review
I’ve been wearing MoveActive Pilates socks for over a year now, and honestly, there isn’t another brand I’ll buy. Every time I wear them, whether with cute hearts or tonal chocolate brown, I get compliments at Pilates. The new Matcha collection was no exception.
Rocking the Polka Dot Matcha Socks ($22.95) to reformer Pilates felt like a style statement and a moment of me-time. I also got a surprising amount out of the Ankle and Wrist Weights (1kg; $89), which are fantastic for adding strength or resistance to a workout. With the TCS Sydney Marathon approaching in August, I’m in training mode, and anything that boosts strength and looks good is a win.
My favourite piece is the Resistance Bands ($28 per band). They won’t break the bank, but you can get a surprising burn from just one band in a strength routine. Made from a cotton-blend fabric, they’re comfortable and don’t rub during exercise in running shorts.
It’s all about quality with MoveActive. You can’t see it until you feel it, but it’s definitely there. With countless sock options and other workout essentials, there’s something for everyone in this new lineup featuring the colour and drink of the season.
Holly’s Review
I’ve been a loyal Pilates girl for years, mostly attending classes at Core Culture in Cammeray. While instructor-led sessions ensure proper form, I’ve been adding more strength training to tone muscles and improve my core. At home, I’ve added MoveActive’s Pilates Ball and Toning Balls.
Great for use alongside dumbbells, these add extra weight, forcing my body to work harder. With the toning balls, I place them under the balls of my feet to make squats more challenging, while the inflatable ball slides between my thighs during glute bridges. Who doesn’t want a pop of matcha green while working out?
MoveActive’s Grip socks have become a go-to for both at-home and instructor-led sessions. Unlike others, these stay put on my feet when moving the carriage, leaving me secure and sturdy throughout the 50 minutes. My matcha green accessories have been a stylish, simple way to level up my routine.
If you’re a Pilates girl like us, you’ll love MoveActive’s additions.
